Harbour Impressions III - Oil Painting by Victor Bramley
Harbour Impressions III - Oil Painting by Victor Bramley
Oil on board entitled ‘Harbour Impressions III’ by Victor Bramley. Bramley was the longest serving member of the St Ives Society of Artists based in west Cornwall. Elected to membership in 1961, he exhibited with the society every year until shortly before his death in 2014. A self-taught artist, Bramley arrived in St Ives in 1959 when Barbara Hepworth, Bernard Leach, Peter Lanyon and Patrick Heron were all working in the area.
In good vintage condition, the colours remain vibrant and there are no obvious signs of damage. Bramley’s initials are evident on the bottom left of the artwork. Housed in a painted pine frame with the artist’s handwritten notations and paper labelling to the back.
