Designed by John and Sylvia Reid for The Stag Cabinet Co. Ltd, Nottingham, the Stag Cumberland range - or ‘C Range’ as it was latterly known - was aimed at the optimistic younger generation emerging from post-war austerity. This ‘C Range’ four drawer chest is constructed from solid oak and oak-veneered plywood/blockboard. Each of the drawer fronts houses a cut away handle and the chest itself stands on turned, solid oak legs. This piece also benefits from the original, tilt adjustable mirror housed in an open-sided oak frame.

The original advertising label is evident to the rear and the ‘Stag Furniture’ badge is fixed to the inside of one of the drawers - all of which run smoothly.

All in all this piece is in good vintage condition. There are some small losses to the veneer in places - most noticeably to the bottom/rear sides of the carcass - and some foxing to the mirror as shown in the images.
